Introduction and objective:
In many countries, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the military services have become involved together with the public services in the implementation of anti-epidemic measures. The aim of the study was to analyze educational and training activities carried out by the Medical Corps of the Polish Armed Forces and the Military Medical Training Center (WCKMed) as a part of anti-epidemic measures provided by the Polish army.

Material and methods:
Data on educational and training activities carried out by the Military Medical Training Center (WCKMed) from March 2020 – August 2021, as well as anti-epidemic activities carried out or coordinated by the Department of Military Health Service of the Ministry of National Defence from March 2020 were collected and analyzed.

In association with the introduction of the state of epidemic, the Polish Army has become involved in the implementation of anti-epidemic measures, including swab sampling for SARS-CoV-2 testing; construction of infrastructure necessary to combat the COVID-19 pandemic; human resources support for health care institutions; transport and logistics; and verification of the compliance with the rules of quarantine and isolation. In April 2020, as part of the preparation for the implementation of anti-epidemic measures, all professional soldiers were trained in the epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 infections, the use of personal protective equipment and the prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infections, collecting biological material for testing for SARS-CoV-2, providing qualified first aid in a hazardous environment, potentially endangered by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The engagement of public services, including military, in the implementation of anti-epidemic measures requires the provision of well-organized training and education on infection prevention methods.
