ABSTRACT
Objective:
The objective of the study was investigation of the state of knowledge concerning natural feeding among women after childbirth.

Material and Methods:
In the study participated 300 women after childbirth, aged from 18 – 41. The research instrument was a questionnaire designed by the author. The obtained results were subjected to statistical and descriptive analysis using software STATISTICA 12.0 (StatSoft). For qualitative characteristics, chi-square was applied to detect the differences between the analyzed variables.

Results:
Among the respondents, 83.33% of women considered that breastfeeding should be started within two hours after childbirth. A statistically significant relationship was observed between place of residence, socio-economic status, and the way of termination of pregnancy. A relationship was also found between knowledge of the recommendations by the WHO concerning the shortest period of exclusive breastfeeding and education, and the number of children possessed. The largest number of respondents considered the Internet and television as the key sources of their knowledge concerning feeding.

Conclusions:
The respondents presented a very high level of knowledge related with natural feeding.
