STRESZCZENIE ARTYKUŁU
W artykule przedstawiono problemy socjobytowe grupy 120 kobiet wiejskich po 60.. roku życia wraz z samooceną ich stanu zdrowia.

Each person should have the possibility of choosing the way of spending own old age; however; this is not always so, either due to the lack of preparation for old age, lack of proper knowledge, or a difficult situation observed in Polish families. It seems that the tradition of a multi-generation family living in one household has passed into history, especially in large-cities environments. Is this situation similar in rural families? The study covered the total number of 120 rural females aged over 60, selected at random. The results of the study showed that 30.8% of the females examined evaluated their social situation and material standard as ‘good’. In the opinions of the women examined, their state of health was alarming - as many as 40.0% of them evaluated their state of health as ‘bad’, while only 40.0% of the respondents aged over 60 received support and assistance from their families. The greatest life and health problem of the women in the study (50.8%) was memory loss.
